U.S. Navy Radiation Health Officers and Radiation
Specialists
| Radiation Health Officers (RHOs) are U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps Officers serving within
the U.S. Navy's Medical Department. They are qualified by education, training and professional expertise to plan, supervise and
administer a Radiation Health Program. A Radiation Health Program is a Medical Department responsibility comprising all methods
and procedures designed to maintain and protect the health of personnel exposed to ionizing radiation or radioactive contamination.
Radiation Specialists (RS) are RHOs with clinical medical physics expertise in diagnostic radiology, radiation therapy, and nuclear
